 Frequently asked questions...
 Location:
First Church of Christ is located at 503 N. Main Street in Georgetown, Illinois. The Church sits on Route 1 across the street from
McDonalds.
What you can expect from FCOC:
Excellent care for your kids in their own graded bible school classes.
A worship experience that will both inspire and challenge you to draw closer to God.
An invitation to commit your life to Christ.
An opportunity to let us know who you are and how we can serve you. (No, we won't make you stand up in front of the Church.)
The truth is in God's Word, the Bible. If you need a Bible, please feel free to get one of the Bibles at the Welcome Center.
Our communion service is open to all believers who have received Christ as Savior.
 First Church of Christ teaches:
That the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a divinely preserved "lamp for our feet and light for our path."
That Jesus Christ in the flesh was both God and man, and He died for our sins and arose from the dead.
That every person has worth as a creation of God, but "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."
That forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord.
That those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized into Him.
That salvation with its forgiveness, its imparting of a new nature, and its hope of eternal life is by the pure grace of God.
That the Church is the Body of Christ on earth and exists to save the lost and edify the saved.
That Jesus Christ will one day return to earth and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
 To become a member:
For those who are already in a saving relationship with God, and are simply looking for a new Church home, simply come forward
at the invitation and let the minister know your intentions. It might be helpful to contact one of the staff ministers or the Church
office ahead of time.
For those who would like to accept Christ as their Savior, contact one of the ministry staff and express your desires. Our senior
minister would like to meet with you before you come forward and discuss this step with you. This is especially important with
younger individuals. When you are ready, come forward at the invitation Sunday morning and express your wishes to the minister.
 For your children:
First Church of Christ provides a wide variety of activities for children. Graded worship, Bible School classes, mid-week
activities and special events. We also have an excellent group of nursery workers to take care of your very young children while
you worship with us. Check out our Children's Ministry area for more information.
