WHAT TIME ARE THE SERVICES?
We have offer two different services on Sundays. Our first service is at 8:00a and is a more traditional service. Our second service is at 10:30a and has a more modern feel to it. Each service will last approximately an hour. We’d encourage you to arrive 15 minutes early, especially if you have young children. That will give you plenty of time to get your children checked in at the prior to the service, or to grab a cup of coffee in our coffee area. Also, we have multiple Sunday School classes that begin at 9:15a.
HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
FCOC is a "come as you are" church. We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you're joining us and we want you to be more focused on who you’re worshiping than what you're wearing. In the summertime, it's not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a t-shirt. Most people dress casual though a few still prefer to put on their "Sunday best," and that's fine, too! We think you'll fit in no matter how you dress.
WHAT ARE THE MESSAGES LIKE?
The most important thing we could say is, we aim to teach the Bible in a way that is engaging, understandable, and applicable. Transformation is inseparable from application, so you will find the teaching here always ends in “how does this truth challenge, encourage or guide me right where I am?” Most messages are biblical exposition; that is, a verse-by-verse study of God’s Word, a “balanced diet” of the whole counsel of God. In addition, our focus is on God’s Word, not the teacher.
WHAT ABOUT THE MUSIC?
Music and singing is just one of the many ways that we worship. At FCOC, we are led by a team of musicians and vocalists. Our 8:00a service is generally just a vocal leader and piano. Our 10:30a service you will see a full band and vocalists. We try to stay up-to-date and current with our 10:30a service, and keep the traditional feel with our 8:00a service.
WHAT'S AVAILABLE FOR MY KIDS?
We have a great children’s experience every Sunday: "Never Too Young" is designed to help your children connect with God, with each other, and with the mission. We have three areas for children: Nursery (0-24 months), Sparks (2-5 year olds), and Kindle (K-5th grade). Our Nursery and Sparks students will check in and be in their classroom from 10:30a-11:30a. Our Kindle students will stay with their families throughout worship, communion, and offering to experience "adult church" as a family, and will then be released to meet our leaders in the back of the sanctuary to take them downstairs for a lesson that is on their level.
DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING FOR STUDENTS?
We have Sunday School classes for our Jr High students. We encourage them to go to our 10:30a service after Sunday School. Also check out Glow, our youth group on Wednesday nights for students in 1st-12th grade. We also have a High School only group that meets on Sunday evenings.
WILL I BE ASKED TO GIVE MONEY?
If you are a guest, please do not feel any obligation to give. We believe giving is an act of worship wherein those who have a personal relationship with God through Christ, give regularly and generously in response to God’s gracious gifts.
